Teaching

Delivered lectures, tutorial and practical sessions within own area of specialism (i.e. Interactive Audio, Sound Design and Human Computer Interaction) in the following modules:

  • Sound Design for Interactive Media (MSc in Sound Design: 2015-2018).

  • Advanced Professional Practice (MSc in Sound Design: 2014-2018).

  • Interactive Audio (3rd year, UG, BSc Sound Design: 2015-2018).

  • Responsive Environments (3rd year, UG, BSc Digital Media & Interaction Design 2011-2018).

At undergraduate level, I taught game audio theory and practice to sound design students; Prototyping with Max/MSP and Arduino to Sound design, Digital Media and Product Design students. At postgraduate level, I delivered classes in the Sound Design MSc program of Edinburgh Napier University; topics include: Interactive Audio, Sonification and Auditory Display, Sound & Music Computing with emphasis on Musical Interaction, Music Information Retrieval and Game Audio.

 

Supervision

Undergraduate and postgraduate student supervision of dissertations and mentoring.

  • Internal module moderation of undergraduate and MSc modules.

  • Summative and formative assessment and feedback provision for the aforementioned modules.

  • Representation of module results in external examiner board meetings.

  • Organisation of internal PhD conference.

  • Member of organising committee: Designing Interactive Systems Conference, DIS 2017.

  • Informal PhD mentoring: I have often helped PhDs in our department with programming, study design and statistical analysis.

  • Consultancy: design of undergraduate and MSc programs on Sound Design at Edinburgh Napier University.
